Compensation: $20.00 hourly
FLSA: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: SEO NYC Office, In-Person 

Term: November 25, 2024 - January 3, 2025 

Hours: Approx 20 hours/week; 

All candidates must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Temporary Office Assistant will provide essential in-office support on a part-time basis for approximately five weeks. The anticipated schedule is during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday. The position reports to the Director of Real Estate and Administration.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Staffing SEO’s primary reception area
  • Assist Real Estate & Administration team in preparing for an upcoming office move such as packing, unpacking and organizing materials or creating new signage
  • Receiving and sorting mail and delivered packages
  • Notify departments of received materials
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and mail via FedEx or USPS
  • Monitor and restock office materials as needed
  • Move boxes and materials up to 25 lbs. to/ from storage areas
  • Answer general phone line
  • Assist in-office staff as needed
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work at the SEO New York office in person ~20 hours per week from November 25, 2024 to approximately January 3, 2025
  • Must have previous office-based work experience. 
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs required. 
  • Solid communication skills, including communicating professionally across email, chat, and phone. 
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable.  
  • Knowledge of basic workplace applications like Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Zoom; other technical proficiencies are welcome. 
  • Ability to work with a team to keep projects on track. 
  • Previous work or program experience with SEO is a plus! 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

This position is benefits ineligible per local, state, and federal regulations.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
