FLSA: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week in office

POSITION OVERVIEW
The 11th Grade Program Assistant is responsible for data management and operational support for summer enrichment programming during the academic year and new mentor recruitment in the summer. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing enrichment program applications for upwards of 175 scholars and creating tracking systems for these programs that can be easily accessed and understood by all members of the 11th Grade team. During the summer, the Program Assistant will transition to support the Senior Manager of Mentoring with the interview scheduling process between SEO staff interviewers and applicants, tracking application and interview data, and conducting follow up with new and returning mentor candidates as needed.
The Program Assistant is a highly organized, dynamic team player with a keen eye for detail, an ability to handle multiple responsibilities, and a commitment to providing opportunity to underserved high school students.
Enrichment Program Operations – 60%
Assist the Program Manager of External Partnerships with the following:
- Create application calendars for 40 enrichment programs
- Design PowerPoint presentations that detail application steps for each enrichment program
- Review final drafts for application essays
- Ensure all components of applications are completed and submitted in a timely manner
- Oversee data and form collection post-application submission. This will include ensuring that each scholar has completed a medical form, parents/guardians have signed terms & conditions and assist select students with visa applications and material purchases.
- Purchase and track transportation for scholars traveling outside of New York City.
Student Management – 40%
- Lead enrichment program and scholarship application groups including the scheduling of application meetings, creation of application timelines, essay editing, and collection and tracking of application components to ensure on-time completion of the application.
- Schedule one-on-one time with scholars who need additional assistance through the enrichment program application process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience working with databases
- Ability to work some Saturdays as well as some evenings as needed

- Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and ability to multitask and handle changing priorities
- Superior written/oral communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Bilingual Spanish/English is highly desirable
COMPENSATION
This position is benefits ineligible in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
