Summary:
Provides support to practicing attorneys in the areas including, but not limited to, litigation and investigations; assists in the preparation of lawsuits and other legal and regulatory proceedings by reviewing and revising pleadings, motions, briefs, responses to discovery, appeals, etc. and organizing and compiling responses to interrogatories and document production requests; provides support to in-house legal counsel, outside counsel, Operations, Risk and Asset Protection
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to practicing attorneys to assure that the Company, its assets and its activities are legally safeguarded, comply with applicable laws and regulations and do not unduly expose the Company to liabilities
- Assists in implementing solutions to existing or potential legal and regulatory issues involving the Company
- Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, regulations, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions and legal codes
- Assists in the preparation of lawsuits and other legal and regulatory proceedings that are or may be instituted or defended by the Company
- Arranges and compiles responses to interrogatories and document production requests
- Reviews and revises pleadings, motions, memoranda, briefs, discovery, responses to discovery, appeals and other legal documents for review and approval by attorneys
- Works closely with in-house counsel and outside counsel regarding active litigation
- Assists in responding to subpoenas and notices of violations received by the Company
- Confers with Company attorneys and outside counsel retained by the Company to keep abreast of developments in which the Company has an interest
- Conducts presentations, publishes information and participates in other activities to educate Company employees on legal issues
- Participates in continuing education programs and other activities as necessary to keep informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statute and regulations, economic and social issues and other matters of interest to the Company
- Maintains knowledge of specific legal and regulatory requirements and Company policies and procedures
- Performs administrative tasks requiring knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and Company policies and procedures
- Assists in the development of legal forms used by the Company
- Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management

Skill Requirements:
- Proficient with Word, Excel and other MS Office suite applications
- Proficient with litigation hold procedures and systems, matter management and billing procedures and systems, level research databases such as Lexis-Nexis and/or Westlaw
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations
- Ability to perform repeated bending, standing and reaching
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
Additional Requirements:
- Available to travel as needed

Education Requirements:
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in paralegal related field or 10+ years of paralegal experience
