Position Overview
Perform tasks and assignments to support Software Engineering in design, development, testing and documentation of our maritime electronic systems to include sonobuoys within the other engineering disciplines, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Acoustics.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Create software to satisfy user needs or requirements
  • Build a software executable and program a device
  • Test software against stated requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform programming and testing of devices as per instructions
  • Develop and document procedures and tools to support software development
  • Other assignments may be added / adjusted as applicable.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the construction and testing of engineering prototypes
  • Assist in the maintenance of laboratory stations and equipment

Requirements:

Sparton interns must meet the following criteria:

  • Course completion of some type of Software Language: C/C++. MatLab, or Python
  • Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work on-site in De Leon Springs, FL

Mentor: Software Engineer

Travel Requirement: N/A
