Position Objective

The EHS Specialist is to provide company-wide EHS strategy, planning, policy, standards, practices, processes, auditing, resources and technology, and management systems that aim to protect the workplace, the community and the environment. The EHS Specialist assists in building collaborative and productive working relationships, networks with, and appropriately involves key internal and external stakeholders, influences key business decisions as well as functional and operational EHS strategies, plans, executes, and evaluates complex assignments that have a broad impact on operations and the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To assist in driving the EHS vision, mission, policy and strategies by performing EHS compliance applicability reviews, EHS risk assessments and implement effective programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees, communities and the environment.
  • Assist in site wide audits to identify systemic EHS management gaps, development of targeted corrective measures and implement solutions to sustain compliance with EHS strategies, policies or standards. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EHS programs.
  • Provide EHS service, solutions, programs, best practices and technical guidance to business management and support functions to effectively and efficiently manage compliance assurance and EHS risk mitigation.
  • Assist in management of EHS incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EHS programs.
  • Assist in the development of company-wide employee safety and injury prevention programs.
  • Conduct various environmental auditing, record keeping and regulatory reporting as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in environmental, health, safety or relevant scientific or engineering field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in an EHS programs, operations, quality or engineering functions. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Possess tactical and strategic regulatory leadership and direction as well as work well with limited supervision while being responsible for project management, compliance assurance, risk mitigation, injury prevention and environmental management.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple & technically complex assignments concurrently.
  • Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver, project management skills and focus on results.
  • Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
