EEE COMPONENTS ENGINEER
The EEE Components Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the design engineer community towards higher reliability systems. This person ensures SpaceX can continue to use commercial electronics from a wide range of manufacturers. The EEE Components Engineer is a key member who will be responsible for evaluating new and existing parts for high reliability through communication with suppliers, design reviews, and hands-on lab analysis. This member will also be involved in supporting and driving quick decisions for reliability mitigation by bringing appropriate groups together and driving work towards closure. This work impacts all stages of design and production, and must interface with supply chain, design engineers, and production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, track, communicate, and disposition, part change notifications and new part requests
- Review bills of materials for new designs to ensure the use of reliable components
- Support Starlink EEE part reliability issues and risk mitigation towards closure
- Engage external third parties (such as component manufacturers and test labs) for acquiring outsourcing work, scheduling data reviews, or engaging in established processes
- Interface with supply chain, design engineers, and production/manufacturing
- Execute dimensional and destructive analysis on high-risk products
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, or equivalent field
- Experience in electrical designs (component, circuits, PCBA’s, or electronic assemblies)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in any of the following areas: system architecture, supply chain, purchasing, production and manufacturing
- Experience with non-destructive and destructive lab analysis techniques
- Soldering experience
- Basic python and/or SQL coding
- Understanding of basic manufacturing systems for electronic components
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends to support critical needs
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
EEE Components Engineer/Level I: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year
EEE Components Engineer/Level II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
