Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on environmental regulations and risks required to develop environmental compliance and/or service execution and delivery programs
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal partners and external agencies to facilitate effective communications and collaboration
  • Collaborate with operations and senior management in various organizational units to implement environmental controls including programs and procedures
  • Direct multi-disciplinary technical teams of internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, to develop and implement environmental programs and permitting requirements
  • Lead the procurement process for contractor needs including writing the Scope of Work, developing scoring approach and leading the evaluation of bids and perform cost and spend analysis across the vendor portfolio to track and project workloads and budgets Where applicable, provide oversight of vendor performance including budget
  • Ensure process updates and changes are implemented in alignment with Environmental Management System standards
  • Take feedback from stakeholders, data requests, and analysis needs to improve risk assessment process to improve its efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prioritize controls focusing on continuous improvement activities to inform Leadership on risk-reduction outcomes and emerging issues or new regulatory changes of impact to the organization including risk mitigation
  • Maintain detailed records and prepares related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in environmental and/or related compliance fields and/or permitting
  • Valid Class C driver\u2019s license required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or related discipline.
  • Ten or more years of experience providing waste management compliance support.
  • Experience leading strategic compliance efforts, implementation of internal controls, and developing training related to RCRA, Non-RCRA, Universal, and Non-Hazardous wastes.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and implementing regulations, developing guidance for complex projects, and reaching agreement with external stakeholders including agencies (DTSC)
  • Experience with regulatory reporting (RCRA Biennial, EVQ, Source Reduction) and the development of programmatic standards and manuals.
  • Experience with waste characterization, profiling, manifesting, and evaluating new and existing disposal facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
