Reports to the Manager 1 who provides oversight and guidance of work being performed and provides back up support in the absence of Senior Specialist. Daily decisions including choosing the correct equipment for the job ensuring the safest and most efficient process for achieving the work. Maintain accurate regulatory and compliance procedures, ensuring schedules are updated and accurate. Engage with clients to gain trust and establish strong working relationships. Job site hazard analysis with an emphasis on safety. These responsibilities are crucial for maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of crane operations' activities. Safety is top priority in this role, and the Senior Specialist plays a key part in upholding these standards.

Focus of Role:

  • Crane SME: Serves as the Crane expert, responsible for processing Crane requests, and assuring appropriately sized equipment sent to jobs. Provides Technical Support and job coordination to include cost estimates. Provides consulting services on an as needed basis to Department and Division Management on Crane lift projects (i.e. Deteriorated pole, Distribution cut over projects, Transmission Tower Replacement projects, storm support). Selects external crane vendors for Crane Ops. Provides technical support while working with Regulatory Agencies for FAA and City/County encroachment permitting of Crane in public thoroughfares. Maintain accurate regulatory and compliance procedures ensuring all schedules and operations comply with safety regulations.
  • Crane Scheduling: Job walks and work method plans related to Crane Operations. Processes and schedules cranes both internal and external using SAP, Word, Excel, Google earth, FAA E file system & Outlook. Completes SAP Crane Notification tasks with tracking of costs, budget tracking, equipment & time for accurate KPI reporting for both internal Crane Utilization and on time delivery crane services.
  • Safety: Conduct thorough hazard analyses at job sites with a strong emphasis on safety. Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them. Perform weekly safety observations to ensure compliance with safety standards while developing and implementing corrective action plans as needed based on observations. Ensure all team members are aware of and adhere to safety guidelines. Supervise contractors to ensure work practices while providing guidance and support to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Administration: Responsible for material, supply ordering, processing supplier invoices, and processes Invoices via ARIBA from Accounts Payable (AP). Monitor purchase order spend, processes change order and works with procurement to establish new purchase orders. In addition, responsible for Annual Permit tracking and upkeep, as well as office filing and file maintenance.
  • Additional Duties: Daily interaction with internal and external clients, some after-hours emergency rotation responsibility. Overtime on an as needed basis (vacation coverage, duty rotation, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-depth analysis of telemetric data to distil complex data analysis when adhering to ad-hoc investigations. Diagnoses and administers Camera Event Recorder hardware installed in vehicles. Recommends installation instructions, hardware requirements, and life-cycle management plans
  • Performs and directs quality assurance and process improvement efforts
  • Interacts with business unit leads and customers on fleet vehicle related issues or concerns. Administers PowerAutomate push reports to fleet users with time based and event based triggers
  • Distributes scheduled reporting regarding asset utilization, maintenance repair cost, damage cost, mobilization cost, fuel cost, and other key metrics
  • Evaluates asset life cycles and ownership costs, making recommendations based on forecasted requirements
  • Provides strategic guidance, instruction, and necessary process documentation related to SCE assets and functional services provided
  • Evaluates health and safety of fleet by ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with local regulations by performing audits, providing feedback and trends to leadership.
  • Reviews and updates fleet-related data to ensure relevancy and accuracy
  • Oversees Generator Services and suppliers to ensure Air Quality compliance, field safety, and contract compliance. Assesses equipment alternatives to optimize performance, cost, emissions, etc. Conducts Teir1 Safety risk field safety assessments of equipment rental companies
  • Periodically supports the TSD Rentals 24x7 Duty line and supports corporate IMT efforts
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience working with fleet maintenance systems, fleet management operations and responsibilities.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in Construction Scheduling.
  • Two or more years of experience working with Cranes and related Heavy Construction Equipment.
  • Experience and general knowledge of Hydraulic Truck Cranes with an understanding of Load Charts.
  • Experience and general knowledge of measuring tools/ instruments (i.e. range finders, wheels etc.).
  • Experience and ability to perform job walks, as directed, to determine job scope radius' with an understanding of cranes load capacities
  • Experience with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, performing advanced functions such as: VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, filtering/ sorting, charts and graphing.
  • Experience with Google Earth and FAA E File system.
  • Experience processing and reporting, using SAP and Ariba.
  • Experience with SharePoint, to maintain and create files/ documents.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position will require up to 60% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
