We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Instructional Designer & VR Learning Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in learning technology and a passion for bringing innovative solutions into our company. This role will involve collaborating with the IT department to identify, implement, and integrate new learning technologies. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough understanding of IT processes and demonstrate the capability to collaborate effectively with IT professionals. Additionally, A key responsibility will also include building VR training environments, utilizing tools such as Blender and Unity building VR training environments to develop immersive and effective training experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers technical trainings on a wide range of solutions areas/ technologies
  • Develops, designs, and ensures quality of training materials; performs in the capacity of Technical Instructional Design Lead
  • Utilizes knowledge of training methodologies to plan and facilitates development of training solutions that drive department or Operating Unit outcomes
  • Monitors and documents user outcomes, needs assessment and learning objectives
  • Supports the implementation of training programs, delivery plans and documentation of user outcomes
  • Collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to understand to examine existing software and system training materials, identify gaps and develop an organized approach to development of training resources
  • Contributes to the identification and design of the technical training curriculum, balancing the needs of different functions
  • Ensures feedback is incorporated into the design, development or facilitation of future technical training programs, and that training interventions align both learner experience and department/Operating Unit needs
  • Conducts analyses on program effectiveness, reporting to department or Operating Unit leaders on results
  • Provides input on documentation of programs, curriculum, and outcome objectives; provides oversight and guidance to less experienced team members
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supporting technical training learning initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • VR Development Skills: Strong knowledge of VR tools, particularly Unity and Blender, plus other VR technologies.
  • Innovative Learning Solutions: Experience in evaluating and integrating innovative learning solutions and IT processes.
  • Instructional Design: Skills in designing training modules across various modalities (eLearning, microlearning, video, AR/VR/XR, instructor-led).
  • Training Delivery: Experience in conducting classroom and virtual training sessions.
  • Program Evaluation: Ability to assess and adjust training program effectiveness.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date with trends in learning and development, especially in the utility industry.
  • Certification: Certification in technical training or a related field.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
