Become a Regulatory Policy Advisor in Grid Policy at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll will focus on regulatory cases that affect the future of SCE's grid planning and grid operations that support SCE's Clean Power and Electrification Pathway. The Regulatory Policy Advisor leads cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and complete regulatory activities to achieve SCE policy goals. You will spearhead the regulatory process including developing and reviewing testimony, advice letters, comments, and responses to data requests. You will also represent SCE in external stakeholder engagement and advocacy activities. Because this role is strategically aligned with the operational and regulatory goals for SCE, you will frequently and proactively interact with SCE management as well as external stakeholders including staff at various regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates legislative and regulatory issues, as well as trends and emerging issues that could have a potential impact on the business divisions
  • Maintains thorough understanding of pending regulatory proceedings, rulemakings and other initiatives affecting the company's business interests
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with government, regulators, utilities and market participants
  • Performs reviews of contracts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and solicitation requirements
  • Formulates company strategies internally for communication in the marketplace
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of current regulations and potential developments of regulation and market design across energy markets and products
  • Manages and tracks corrective action responses by ensuring actions are implemented and appropriately documented
  • Advises business units on compliance with regulations and requirements for the marketing and sale of energy, and transactional and operating rules and guidelines
  • Advises business units on regulatory compliance reporting, monitors and conducts surveillance of compliance processes and transactions, and conducts compliance investigations
  • Participates in the development of regulatory strategies and policies that support business strategies
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, or equivalent.
  • Experience with California regulatory policy
  • Experience with electric utility planning and/or operations, especially related to distribution grid planning and ops.
  • Experience translating technical content to non-technical audiences.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
