Become a Principal Manager of Transmission and Substation Project Development at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll lead a technical team responsible for developing traditional and innovative project solutions to address electric transmission and substation grid needs, including reliability improvement, infrastructure replacement, renewable generation and load interconnections, as well as system load growth. In addition, this PM is responsible for detailed project scoping, project licensing support, and coordination for jointly owned, competitive, unique and/or very large cross-cutting transmission and substation projects. This PM will serve as the accountable project sponsor for transmission, sub-transmission and substation projects.

Responsibilities
- Leads efforts to drive innovative grid policy, architecture and technology roadmap development and implementation under aggressive deadlines to transform how the grid is planned, designed, operated and maintained to operationalize company's strategy. Responsible for annual strategies for ~$1 billion annually
- Reviews and approves large impactful engineering processes and standards to ensure efficiency and quality, utilizing a variety of strategies and ensures appropriate resources are dedicated to the successful implementation of cutting-edge technologies
- Documents goals, communicates direction, and delegates initiatives that design, development, and implementation of engineering projects in alignment with organizational goals and industry standards
- Prepares testimony and may be a witness in GRC proceedings on behalf of SCE
- Leads the development and execution of long-term strategic plans for the engineering department, aligning with the overall business strategy and objectives and key maintenance and engineering objectives
- Develops and maintains KPIs to measure and track engineering department performance and project success
- Ensures appropriate support is provided to the implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to optimize project outcomes
- Develops and manages the engineering department budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project needs and financial targets
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must possess an Engineering degree.
- Experience collaborating with regional transmission organizations (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT), regulatory agencies (e.g., FERC, NERC) and with the competitive project bidding process (e.g., CAISO competitive projects).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in utility industry, with a focus in transmission planning, grid interconnection, and power system infrastructure .
- Experience in transmission network modeling, load flow analysis and reliability assessments.
- Experience with renewable integration, energy storage and emerging grid technologies.
- Experience in project management, including strategic planning, budgeting and execution of large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of RFPs (Request for Proposal), cost estimation and contract negotiations.
- Experience managing regulatory processes, such as FERC Order 1000 or state-mandated transmission plans.
- Ability to oversee planning studies, evaluate system expansion alternatives and develop recommendations for regulatory filings.
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
