Become a Modeling, Forecasting & Economic Analysis, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead the development of analysis evaluating SCE's electricity rate trends and coordinate the implementation of rates recovering over $17 billion in revenue. Notably, you will:
- Design: Support the research and design of electricity rates that consider the diverse characteristics of customers; equitably recover the cost of providing service to customers; and incentivize customers to make efficient decisions about their consumption of electricity and adoption of emerging technologies.
- Analyze: Lead the development of scenario analysis evaluating impacts of different electricity rate structures and trends on customer bills and affordability metrics.
- Implement: Lead the coordination, implementation, and validation of complex rate-setting processes ensuring all regulatory requirements are accurately and fully reflected in rates.

This position combines strategic influence, technical expertise, and significant responsibility in designing and setting electricity pricing in Southern California.

Responsibilities
- Analyzes forecasting errors and trends and propose, vet, and implements load bidding strategies in partnership
- Maintains and updates existing forecast models and develop new models to improve forecast performance
- Analyzes forecasting errors and identifies areas of improvement in modeling, forecasting and analysis processes.
- Maintains well-documented records and compliance with all internal Company policies and procedures
- Guides research into current and future market and regulatory scenarios which are used to value the commercials of assets
- Develops and optimizes databases and repositories including visualization tools to enhance decision making
- Forecasts market prices in order to help determine the correct market strategy
- Performs ad hoc quantitative analysis and model development to support trading and business decisions
- Develops and enhances tools for analysis projects using appropriate technical information and skills
- Performs exploratory analysis of large complex data sets to derive insights and valuable actions
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience defining system requirements and project scope.

- Calculation Engines Development: Skilled in designing, implementing, and validating complex calculation engines and creating thorough validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Highly Organized: Thrives in environments where success depends on ability to develop and communicate clear project plans while maintaining thorough documentation.
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
