In this job, you'll lead technical projects to develop vehicle specifications, designs, drawings, contracts, and production. The Engineer analyses alternatives and suppliers to optimize crew safety, functionality, productivity, and costs.This position can develop into the Fleet Engineer 3 or Senior Fleet Engineer roles which specialize in aerial work platforms, high voltage equipment, digger derricks and cranes. This position is technical in its nature and will have a meaningful impact on employee safety and productivity through the decisions that are made by the Engineer. Significant team collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills are required to be successful when collaborating with crews, crew leadership, garages, and suppliers. Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identification/ trouble shooting, and overall improvements
  • Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, confirming proper mitigation plans are in place
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity
  • Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology
  • Ensures the performance of day to day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards
  • Helps ensure infrastructures supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle
  • Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one-line diagrams, and selecting equipment
  • Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system funcionality and quality of service to customers
  • Act as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requireing project modification to move projects through their lifecycle.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience.
  • Two or more years' experience managing supplier contracts for the delivery of manufactured products.
  • Truck, equipment, and service body design experience.
  • Construction equipment design experience.
  • Truck sourcing experience using formal 'Requests For Proposals' (RFPs) in partnership with Supply Management Agents or as a Supply Management Agent.
  • Commercial Driver's License; experience driving large regulated vehicles.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
