Become a Budget Analysis Advisor in the Corporate REal Estate (CRE) department at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll report directly to the Sr. Manager of CRE Operations, leading the financial workflows necessary to manage SCE's 7 million square foot non-electric real estate portfolio by managing capital and O&M budgets and forecasts; serving as an integration point between Finance, CRE leadership, and program/project managers; providing financial inputs for regulatory filings; and driving improvements. And you'll partner with the Project Controls lead on department-wide governance and reporting. Responsibilities
- Manages budget in line with the work plans and funding agreements
- Delivers monthly budget execution and analysis to the Finance Lead and the management to assess the financial situation
- Supervises and approves budget data entries in the system and ensure that the financial situation is kept up to date
- Leads the coordination, preparation and analysis of complex financial and operational reports, financial statements, scorecards, metrics, benchmarks, budgets, and financial forecasts across multiple areas
- Drives and validates information to support developing trends that will inform forecasts and management decision making
- Oversees the quality assurance functions of financial data and statistical information
- Remains current with and progressively learns industry trends, analytical techniques, and appropriate financial systems necessary to complete essential job functions
- Ensures the upkeep of internal controls and reporting structure
- Continuously identify areas for operational improvements, design countermeasures, drive implementation of process changes and lead continuous improvement for performance reporting area
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in budget management, accounting and budgeting process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of experience, skills and education
- Two or more years of experience with utilities, facilities, commercial real estate, or construction management
- Certified Cost Professional, Project Management Professional, Project Management Professional, or equivalent credentials
- Experience working with cross funtional teams across multiple disciplines (e.g., engineering, finance, project management, construction), and internal and external personnel
- Five or more years managing Capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) operating plans
- Experience managing budgets in a regulated industry
- Two or more years of experience with project controls functions including scheduling, cost estimating and data analysis
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
