In this role, you'll be part of the Contract Compliance & Technical Services (CC&TS) team. The successful candidate will support commercial contract management, origination, compliance and regulatory activities for one of the nation's largest, and rapidly growing, contracted clean energy and energy storage portfolios (11+ GW clean energy generation, 8+ GW energy storage). You will be responsible for administering a variety of compliance programs and associated energy contract databases and system, and will be a part of teams supporting SCE energy procurement activities, and a variety of other activities.

The CC&TS team oversees compliance activities related to a portfolio of more than 400 utility-scale renewable and non-renewable energy contracts and manages regular compliance activities, the administration of the Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS), energy contract databases and systems, and the management of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) transactions to ensure the company's compliance with its renewable energy targets.

As an Advisor in the Contract Compliance and Technical Services team, you will apply your technical savvy in data base and system management with contracts knowledge, to effectively manage compliance and reporting obligations, and support SCE's energy procurement activities. Important responsibilities of this role in supporting SCE's energy procurement activities include the following:

  • Manages energy contract databases, supports data requests and implements improvements to data management processes
  • Data validation and data mining to improve data integrity and quality
  • Prepares reports and present complex technical information to a wide audience
  • Represents the organization in designing and improving IT systems to streamline operations, and may serve as project manager for activities relating to energy procurement
  • Administers energy contract compliance programs
  • Develops new contract compliance programs to support achievement of business objectives
  • Supports energy procurement activities through Requests for Offer (RFOs) for various energy resources, including renewable and energy storage

Additional responsibilities may include any of the below listed responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and executes district compliance audits or assessments
  • Engages with industry and trade groups to exchange information and assess compliance programs against best practices and varying interpretations
  • Develops communications and participates in meetings related to changes in standards
  • Provides guidance on projects and programs on activities relevant to regulatory compliance assessments
  • Maintains and gains knowledge of regulatory agency developments and changes to offer business impact interpretations and guidance
  • Ensures corporate regulatory manuals are current and reviewed periodically
  • Proactively assesses compliance risks, reviews strategies, and business communications to ensure alignment with external regulatory rules and regulations
  • Ensures adoption and compliance with good corporate governance practices
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience with regulatory guidelines, compliance standards, or risk assessment of noncompliance issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience with and interest in data management and analysis, contract management, and/or energy markets
  • Bachelor's or higher level degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or other quantitative related fields
  • Strong influence and negotiation, leadership, initiative, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively multi-task and enthusiastically engage in continuous learning
  • Experience building reports to track, analyze and maintain the accuracy and integrity of large amounts of data using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint and or similar database systems
  • Experience and working knowledge of data base queries (e.g., Power Query, SQL, Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI business analytical tool, including developing and maintaining dashboards
  • Experience in energy markets or working in a utility environment
  • Experience supporting competitive Request for Offers (RFOs)
  • Experience developing, validating, and presenting financial statistics and models
  • Experience evaluating and analyzing data to determine metrics, trends and anomalies

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
