In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to use conversational AI to build and train Large Language Models (LLM) and solve real world problems within different domains, such as, automotive, restaurants, hospitality and smart devices. This role will require specific knowledge of LLM’s architecture, training, benchmarking, iterating, deploying, and optimizing in order to face open-ended problems. A successful candidate will be able to understand the needs in Natural Language Processing (NLP), as well as, Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to build and deploy solutions satisfying those needs using LLMs.

The current team consists of 10 members, spread across the United States, Canada and Korea.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and contribute to cutting edge development in Generative AI, focusing on natural language understanding, dialogue generation, and context-aware conversational systems
  • Develop novel algorithms and models for enhancing the performance and intelligence of our conversational AI platform
  • Train and fine-tune large-scale deep learning models for natural language processing and dialogue generation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including machine learning engineers, software developers, and product managers, to integrate research findings into our products and solutions
  • Remain at the forefront of Generative AI advancements, actively contributing to the evolution and enhancement of our technological infrastructure.

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have a Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science and at least three years of relevant, full-time industry experience
  • You have proven expertise in impactful research and development in Generative AI, with relevant projects demonstrating your expertise
  • You are highly proficient in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and have experience with large-scale model training
  • You have in-depth knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including pre-trained language models, text generation, and dialogue systems
  • You have strong programming skills in Python and can implement and optimize AI models
  • You can tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions in the field of conversational AI
  • You have excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • You have a passion for staying at the forefront of AI research and a drive to push the boundaries of what's possible in conversational AI

We’d be especially excited if you have knowledge of reinforcement learning techniques for dialogue systems and conversational AI, have experience working on chatbots or virtual assistants, and have worked at a conversational AI company. Also, please let us know if you have contributed to open-source AI projects and communities!

This role is available throughout Canada. Employees within a 100-kilometer radius of our Toronto office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled “core days” each month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. Aside from these office-specific “core days,” this job allows for virtual/remote, hybrid, and in-office workplace setting options.
