Client Support:

  • Set up pipeline management meetings with the GFA team to review sourcing initiatives and activity.
  • Assist with delivering client requests concerning general collection management including consignments, pre- and post-sale support and administration, bid registration and execution, loan requests, transactional history, accounts and valuations.
  • Management and execution of pre-sale targeting strategy for global auctions across the Impressionist and Modern department.
  • Manage and keep track of pre-sale target lists as well as current and potential consignment lists, buyer and under bidder results and artist sourcing projects with relevant specialists.
  • Monitor consignment process pre- and post-sale in order to ensure a smooth selling experience and high sell through rates for consignments.
  • Ensure that clients receive a consistently high level of service, by maintaining communication with departments such as Shipping, Client Accounts, Events, Impressionist and Modern Client Strategist, Sotheby’s Preferred, other specialist departments, European and global salerooms to ensure a smooth process.
  • Assist Specialists during client visits, valuations and proposals.

Office Assistant:

  • Coordinating proposals and valuations as required
  • Updating and maintaining files and internal systems
  • Supporting the Swiss GFA Team with Client and Business Development initiatives (e.g. updating the client system, sending large volumes of emails such as pre-sale targeting, event invitations etc.).
  • Effective liaison with other departments and international colleagues, to ensure a seamless service to mutual clients.
  • Dealing effectively with general queries, problem-solving and following tasks through to completion.
  • Support the Zurich office with day to day administrative tasks, such as answering office phone, welcoming clients and receipting consignments.
  • Support corporate Events.

Necessary Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge, passion and commitment to the Art field locally and internationally;
  • Degree holder or equivalent (Art related masters/bachelor preferable)
  • Bilingual in both German (Swiss German) and English mandatory, French would be a plus, any other languages an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and a commitment to an exemplary level of client service;
  • Ability to work effectively individually and in a team, and in a cross-department organization;
  • Ability to work under pressure, to have a flexible approach to a wide range of tasks and proven ability to meet deadlines;
