THE ROLE 

Sotheby's Data & Analytics team is seeking a talented and motivated candidate to accelerate our efforts to drive trust in and the usage of data to drive decision making across the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Understand business requirements from various stakeholders and plan a solution to address data requirements
  • Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization 
  • Develop, design, and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytics
  • Define new KPIs and analyze them to form actionable recommendations 
  • Present to business leaders in both ad-hoc forums and routine business review to drive strategic decision making. 
  • Identify new data functionalities or enhancements needed to support better decision making and business growth. 
  • Solve any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience: SQL, conducting large scale data analyses to support business decision making, working with structured and unstructured data, joining large and complex data sets. 
  • 3-5 years experience in all phases of the BI lifecycle in a Tableau environment including dashboard design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support. 
  • Strong experience with data preparation for reporting (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing, volume assessment and partitioning) including ETL and data modeling (relational and dimensional)
  • Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and the “roll up the sleeves” level of providing oversight and execution for project delivery. 
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL (DBT), and Tableau 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional and responsive

The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $115,000-$130,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
