Responsibilities
- Strong Communication skills. Will require frequent, daily communication (written and verbal) with DC leadership, DC department staff and Sales.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to train and assess new associates
- Ability to work well and communicate with management team
- Ability to assess team needs and prioritize/implement needed changes across departments/functions
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks and labor to accomplish daily goals for productivity and accuracy
- Effectively engage with departments across the operation for engagement on root cause analysis, problem resolution, special handling projects, etc.
- Responsible for quality control and process defect investigation of all building processes. Review outbound and customer centered concerns. Process inspection and review, process improvement opportunities, training and reporting.
- Full management of Customer Service Issue file: validation of issues, problem resolution, coordination with departments on necessary actions to fully resolve and close out issue items.
- Review of all manual backorders for immediate resolution.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down propane forklift
- Complete daily logs for PIT
- Manage direct reports' timekeeping, OT, PTO, performance evaluations, etc. (if applicable)
- Clean and maintain work areas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College degree with 2 years or more related experience or relevant training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
- Prior experience managing direct reports
- PIT proficiency; reach truck, order picker, "sit down" propane. Current certification a plus
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Environment
- Long and varied hours required occasionally
- Ability to work mandatory physical inventory
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environment
- Ability to work in dusty conditions
- Ability to work in noisy environment
