What you will do:
- Overseeing the shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure that staff is appropriately trained in multiple warehouse functions, to assist in balancing staffing needs while fulfilling customer orders.
- Communicate status updates throughout the evening with other shift managers and provide an overall evening summary at the end of the evening.
- Preparing and presenting reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, performance metrics, and other key data.
- Establish and maintain a lean environment, Gemba boards, 5S and Kaizen.
- Recommend equipment requirements and replacements to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
- Motivate employees to meet productivity goals and efficiency goals.
- Promote and adhere to warehouse safety programs to provide employees with a safe and clean workplace.
What you will bring:
- Prior warehouse management experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to obtain certification in the operation of powered industrial trucks including but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, and order picker.
- The desire to maintain an organized and positive warehouse environment.
- The ability to operate computers and/or relevant warehouse computer software.
- Familiarity and adaptability to automation systems.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- This job is performed in a standard warehouse setting around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory.
- The ability to stand and walk for the full length of the assigned shift.
- The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 50 lbs and heavier weights with proper equipment.
- The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform various duties.
- The ability to operate appropriate powered industrial trucks safely. Training will be provided.
Salary Range: This is an exempt position with a salary range from $60-$75k annually.
Location: Cranbury, NJ Central Distribution Center
Work Hours: M-F 8 pm - 5 am.
