The Digital, Data and Technology team is responsible for technology that enables the effective functioning of systems within the Houses, as well as the Soho House app and our website, and all backend systems. The efficient and convenient function of our digital platforms is essential to the success of our business, particularly our app. It is through this that the majority of bookings for food and beverage, bedrooms and events are made; the app also allows members to check-in to Houses, connect with other members, and seamlessly pay their bill.

responsibilities of the Digital, Data and Technology team include: all technology in our physicals spaces, including WiFi and digital card readers for check-in; cyber security; data capture, security and insights; people and development platforms and finance systems; marketing platforms; Soho Support platforms; standardising technology in new Houses; and data privacy compliance.

The Role…

Our Information and Cyber Security team is looking for a Senior GDPR Specialist. With our rapidly growing presence globally we are looking for an individual to join us, ideally hailing from an international B2C, D2C, Retail, Travel, Leisure or Hospitality Environment.

Within this role you will business partner with a wide range of teams across our organisation, including Legal, Digital, Product, People & Development, and our Soho Houses to provide pragmatic advice and guidance on Data Compliance and Risk.

 

Main Duties…

  • Proactively identify compliance obligations based on privacy, corporate governance, financial, operational and information security related regulations
  • Take overall responsibility for assurance related to privacy obligations with third-parties.
  • Work closely with business to establish compliance strategy that aligns with commercial and strategic objectives
  • Partner with teams to prioritise and translate identified obligations into relevant policies and procedures to be communicated and implemented across the group
  • Coordinate and schedule required compliance training for employees in close cooperation with applicable teams
  • Continually develop, implement and manage our compliance program
  • Manage the risk register and governance frameworks around it at a companywide and functional level
  • Coordinate with regulators where required
  • Coordinate reporting channels for compliance issues
  • Develop company compliance communications, in conjunction with our Comms team
  • Work with external partner to manage an end-to-end companywide control and governance review, and take the lead on working with internal stakeholders to action recommendations

 

What We Are Looking For...

  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and standards mainly focusing on GDPR
  • Knowing and understanding of compliance standards and policies, audit techniques, regulatory issues, and operations and procedures that relate specifically to our business
  • Ability to prioritise projects based on overall business strategy and needs
  • Excellent project management, people management and organisational skills
  • Ability to connect and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from varying disciplines and cultures
  • Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation to add value to our fast-growing business
  • Natural curiosity to develop and learn within the role
  • Working knowledge of OneTrust is highly beneficial
