Role Overview

Sodexo Energy & Resources is seeking to bring on a Senior Program Director, Construction Services for a complex facilities management account for an oil & gas business partner in the energy market. This account is a strategic partnership with one of the world's largest and most prestigious oil companies. The position is based onsite in Houston, Texas and reports into the Vice President, Construction Services.

The Senior Program Director, Construction Services will help the Vice President, Construction Services set direction and drive the service level and future business success. This position will design and create solutions for our business partner's long-term capital plans and will ensure the construction project management team performs to high standards.

Responsible for managing a team of professionals for compliance of safety standards, financial budgets, timelines, and coordination of resources for completion of construction projects. Professionals include a combination of Sodexo employees and third-party contractors for design, procurement and construction services and other parties involved in the project's success.

The technical aspects of this position are extremely important, however equally matched is the ability to connect with all stakeholders and your team utilizing strong interpersonal skills.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement all elements of the project execution plan, including tracking and managing project budgets, negotiating and awarding work, and ensuring projects stay on budget and schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain project performance metrics, including pre-development and development budgets.
  • Responsible for evaluating a portfolio of projects to ensure they are resourced at the appropriate level. This includes assessing project needs, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring that each project has the necessary support to meet its objectives.
  • Act as a substitute for the VP in administrative matters when they are unavailable. Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with architects, engineers, general contractors, suppliers, and all parties involved in the project's success.
  • Schedule and/or facilitate various project meetings to coordinate work effectively and have thorough knowledge of all major project priorities.
  • Stay informed about current project issues and understand their implications and be prepared to address unforeseen events that require action not previously planned or envisioned and keep executive leadership informed about the project's progress and any issues that might affect the schedule, budget, or status.
  • Mentor, lead and develop your team.

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in commercial construction and project management.
  • Ground up construction and high-rise transformation experience is a plus.
  • Four-year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Professional credentials such as PMP, LEED AP, OSHA 30 (or better).
  • Proven experience directing and leading all subordinate staff on project(s) and mentoring them to their fullest potential.
  • Proven experience creating and implementing process documents / playbooks to standardize project delivery.
  • Exceptional communication / interpersonal skills with ability to thrive and guide decision making in complex and unclear scenarios.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 10 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 10 years in construction or related field
