Sodexo is seeking an innovative Retail Manager 2 for the University at Albany in Albany, NY. The Retail Manager candidate will be highly visible to students, union- staff, and clients and must possess the skills to manage all retail units with a focus on Customer Service Excellence.

The Retail Manager will display a great deal of creativity with food options, retail trends and programming. You will have oversight of multiple retail locations including a Starbucks and a C-store. We are looking for an innovative leader who is comfortable with technology advances, learning new retail programs and who has strong employee engagement skills and can drive strategic growth.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 3 - 5 years retail management, or background in large restaurant or other food concepts;
  • have a work history in Food Retail management demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization;
  • possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service;
  • demonstrate working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs.

Are You the One? The successful candidate will:

  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop managers and frontline (hourly-paid);
  • oversee cash handing processes, and POS programming and maintenance;
  • ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed;
  • maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands); and
  • maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place.
