Sodexo is seeking a Retail Cafe Manager 2 to join our team at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The Retail Cafe Manager 2 is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Atrium Café's late-night operation. The hours for this position will be Monday- Friday from 3:30pm-1:30am.

The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced setting, interacting with and serving customers, caregivers and patients. This will require extended periods of physical exertion such as walking, standing, lifting, pushing and or pulling. It also includes working in varied temperatures with and around food products and commercial cooking equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for HACCP record keeping, cash handling and cash management, working knowledge of the POS system, manage and lead employees, handle customer complaints and resolve issues, and ensure health and safety compliance. The Retail Cafe Manager 2will report directly to the Retail Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will have previous food service management experience, as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills. The position offers free parking and a monthly meal allowance.

Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Execute shift management responsibilities
  • Manages cash/cash accountability
  • Uses required logs, and record keeping for shifts
  • Directs and manages retail team members during shift
  • Ensures cleanliness of the work environment
  • Ensures facility and equipment is in good working order
  • Conduct weekly safety walks
  • Assist in conducting monthly employee safety in-service trainings
  • Responsible for annual evaluation and goals for retail employees.
  • Responsible for Food and Physical Safety and all HACCP record keeping.
  • Responsible for maintaining Gold Check standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Must complete all required Sodexo and University Hospitals trainings

The qualifications/skills below are also desired in this role:

  • Energetic, polished food service professional with a passion for great customer for service
  • A background in restaurant/ food service environments.
  • Experience leading and engaging a team with supervisory/management skillset.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to multiple audiences and strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with customers/caregivers.
  • Ability to multitask and proven effectiveness in a high-standards driven environment.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) as well as exceptional organizational skills.
  • Servsafe certification required within 90 days of being in the role.
