A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PREP COOK
As a Prep Cook, you arrive each day determined to ensure that every meal leaving our kitchen lives up to our standards of quality. You prepare all the required ingredients for the day as well as grill, fry, and prepare the more simple food items. To ensure guest satisfaction, you carefully follow recipes as well as assemble and plate food in an appealing manner. Your attention to detail ensures that each dish meets our established guidelines in every aspect as well as adheres to any special requests.
To make sure that properly cooked food gets out to diners in a timely manner, you communicate effectively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff while working in an organized, coordinated, and efficient manner. You maintain the cleanliness of food prep areas at all times and follow food sanitation standards to the letter. Your friendly attitude and professional approach towards coworkers, members, and guests, contribute greatly to the success of our restaurant. You love working in a fast-paced culinary environment!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PREP COOK
- 6+ months of experience in food preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver in a tightly-quartered environment
A culinary degree from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required. Can you effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Are you able to accurately follow written and verbal directions? Can you work independently in a high-pressure environment? Are you a team player with good communication skills? If yes, you might just be perfect for this part-time restaurant back-of-house position!
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
