We are seeking an experienced HR Manager at the Indiana Convention Center

Salary: 70K - 80K

Principal Function:

The HR Manager will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, driving employee engagement, administering constructive counseling's and other administrative tasks. This HR Manager will be onsite to provide support for all for major events. The HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring all union and non-union employee-related documentation, files and systems of record are maintained and accurate.

The HR Manager will support the business and department managers by providing leadership and coordination efforts on the following topics: guidance, compensation administration, leadership development, diversity and ethics, employment law and policy compliance, union relations, recruitment, on-boarding, training and workforce management.

The HR Manager will maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality, as they are charged with the protection of sensitive Company and employee information, and they will act with some independence to ensure fairness and objectivity for all employees while exemplifying and supporting Sodexo Live!'s vision, mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate HR systems (AOD, ApplicantPro, HCM, and Lawson) and processes; provide advice, counsel, guidance and employees based on thorough knowledge of related laws. Facilitate and maintain all employee documentation and tracking of information related to employment.
  • Support, leverage and expand the effectiveness and capabilities of unit-level workforce through focus on positive employee experiences, fostering teamwork, building strong team relationships and sharing information to build team awareness.
  • Manage recruitment initiatives and job postings to attract talent, onboarding and orientation; coordinate training for front line employees.
  • Work with District HR Manager and HR Staffing Manager, participating in special projects related to the development and implementation of organizational HR business strategies and roll out of new HR initiatives at the Unit level.
  • Contribute to Sodexo Live! being #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field of study and/or appropriate combination of education and experience to ensure on-the-job success.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • HRCI-PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or willingness to work toward certification.
  • 1-3 years of previous work experience in an HR role, with up to date knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize and work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats. Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter.
  • Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office and HRIS programs.
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.
  • Flexible schedule as hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays as venue is event driven.

Venue Information: The Indiana Convention Center is a major convention center located in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The Indiana Convention Center is located in the heart of the 12th largest city in the U.S., Indianapolis, Indiana. The original structure was completed in 1972 and has undergone five expansions. In total, there are 71 meeting rooms, 11 exhibit halls, and three multi-purpose ballrooms. Now one of the largest convention centers in America, the Indiana Convention Center is connected by skywalks to more hotel rooms than any other city in the nation. Also linked to the center is a four-story urban shopping mall, surrounded by more than 200 restaurants and clubs, well-known sports venues, and a 10-block state park that features top museums, green space and a convenient canal walk.
