Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 in Manhattan, NY.

The Food Operations Manager 3 will be part of a large managerial team, overseeing 3 meal tray lines and service to over 1000 patients per meal. This position will manage a team of approximately 128 union employees, 8 Managers.

Must have prior food operations experience in a healthcare setting. Union experience a plus.

What You'll Do

  • oversee day-to-day operations and successfully coordinate all required tasks through frontline staff
  • deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations
  • manage all ordering and always maintain appropriate level of inventory
  • develop and maintain effective employee, customer, and client relationships
  • ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance
  • have daily interaction with cooks and food service workers to ensure high quality of customer service and satisfaction is on track
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met

What You Bring

  • have a proven track record in successful kitchen management in a busy environment
  • serve as a role model for the kitchen staff by demonstrating knowledge of proper sanitation, food preparation and presentation
  • chef experience a plus, as this person will occasionally step in during staff shortages to keep food production line on track
  • can manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality customer service
  • are experienced in team leadership including coaching and corrective actions
  • facilitate open communication with the team and provide a supportive work environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
