Role Overview
Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, the largest hospital in Central Harlem. This facility features 303 in-patient beds and a wide array of out-patient services. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a managed budget of over $5 million and a team of approximately 50 unionized staff members.

What You'll Do
The Food Operations Manager 2 will play a vital leadership role in directing all aspects of the food service operation, with full oversight of staff and financial performance. This includes:
- Directly managing a team of 45-50 union employees, including supervisors and managers who report directly to this role.
- Leading and developing frontline staff, supervisors, and managers to ensure operational excellence and client satisfaction.
- Overseeing all food service functions, including ordering, inventory control, sanitation, and quality assurance.
- Managing the entire department budget, including labor costs, in coordination with both Sodexo and client expectations.
- Acting as the on-site leadership presence for the Sodexo team-serving as the sole Sodexo manager at the account.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for both Sodexo and client stakeholders.
- Filling in for other supervisors or managers as needed and providing weekend and evening coverage to support ongoing operations.

What You Bring
- Experience managing food service operations in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong background in union workforce management, with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
- Financial acumen with experience managing large operational budgets and staffing plans.
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, inventory systems, and ordering procedures.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as operational needs arise.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
