Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 to join our team at ECU Roanoke Chowan Hospital, a 110 bed facility located in scenic Ahoskie, North Carolina. Ahoskie is located near the Chowan River and less than an hour away from Norfolk, Virginia and Greenville, North Carolina.
The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for the retail and food production operation effectiveness at the unit. The Operations Manager is the key to operational effectiveness at this unit. This position requires a hands on approach in all areas of the operation to ensure all Sodexo, regulatory and client standards are met. On the unit level we provide patient feeding, catering and operate a cafeteria. The Food Operations Manager will have demonstrated culinary and management experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated culinary and management experience, knowledge of HACCP principles and strong leadership and communications skills.

What You'll Do
- Food cost and inventory controls
- Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing implementation.
- Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward patients, visitors and hospital staff
- Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards.
- Meets (or exceeds) Sodexo standards of operation
- Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.
- The Operations manager will be in charge in absence of the General Manager.

What You Bring
- motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid), staff;
- provide stellar customer service;
- oversee cash handing processes, and POS programming and maintenance;
- ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed;
- conduct retail brand standard audits (in-house and national brands);
- maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands);
- manage the opening and closing the operation as well as daily retail food service operations;
- work closely with the Chef in preparing a creative menu;
- think creatively and implement strategies to help drive sales to meet/exceed budget;
- help drive initiatives to increase patient satisfaction;
- enhance and increase participation with the Bite App;
- ensure all needed signage (including digital) is in place;
- manage vendor relationships and compliance; and/or
- maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
