Sodexo is seeking a fulltime Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR or DTR) to support the Inpatient Medical Nutrition Department at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, PA. This 145-bed community hospital is located 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Uniontown Hospital is a compassionate, dedicated community hospital providing a full range of medical care to residents of Fayette County and the surrounding areas for more than a century.

  • perform nutrition screening of patients and assess nutrition risk levels per established criteria;
  • provide appropriate nutrition education;
  • conduct meal rounds and tray audits;
  • participate in performance improvement initiatives with the goal of increasing patient satisfaction; and
  • participate in departmental activities, meetings, committees and other nutrition related tasks.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dietetic Technology OR Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics;
  • DTR or NDTR - required;
  • a good knowledge base of diet and related medical nutrition therapies;
  • sound nutrition education skills;
  • interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and collaborate in a team environment; and
  • good time management skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice in a Dietetic Technician Program as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework in a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) as dictated by ACEND, or required coursework and supervised practice in a Certified Dietary Manager Program as dictated by the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM)

Credentials Requirement:

  • Meets eligibility requirements for Nutrition & Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) by the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM)
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
