Sodexo Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager (Registered Dietitian) that is well versed in acute care to manage the Clinical Nutrition Program and our outstanding clinical team at Renown Regional Medical Center, located in Reno, NV. Renown Health has 800 beds and the region's only Level II Trauma Center and also home to the region's only children's hospital. This role will manage the Clinical department at least 80% of the time and provide patient care as needed 20% with flexibility as needs change.

Renown Regional Medical Center is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients a year. Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian and eligible for Nevada licensure;
  • be responsible for managing the Clinical Nutrition program;
  • oversee and provide nutritional care for a variety of inpatients and provide back-up coverage for Pediatric and NICU (experience preferred, not required); implement medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care;
  • supervise, train and mentor new and current Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Interns;
  • provide technical support to the diet office and collaboration with Sodexo Management;
  • meet DOH/state/federal and company standards;
  • provide education to patients and families;
  • provide staff education to ensure the safe management and care of clients and families;
  • collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during team conferences to recommend, implement, and monitor nutrition interventions; and participate in quality improvement projects and regulatory compliance activities.

  • have Registered Dietitian credentials with management and acute care clinical experience;
  • have a NV license, and/or able to obtain NV license;
  • have pediatric and NICU experience - a plus;

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Basic Management Experience: 6 years experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timeframes within the overall policy framework
Basic Functional Experience: 5 years as experienced specialized practitioner able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to specialists.
