Sodexo Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager (Registered Dietitian) that is well versed in acute care to manage the Clinical Nutrition Program and our outstanding clinical team at Renown Regional Medical Center, located in Reno, NV.

Renown Health has 800 beds and the region's only Level II Trauma Center and also home to the region's only children's hospital.

This Medical Center is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients a year.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will:

  • Manage the Clinical Nutrition Program and lead the department with typically 80% of the time managing and providing patient care as needed 20% of the time with flexibility as needed;
  • Oversee and provide nutritional care for a variety of in-patients, provide back-up coverage for the Pediatric and NICU patients (experience preferred, not required); keeping in compliance with established standards of care;
  • Supervise, train and mentor new and current Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Interns;
  • Provide technical support to the diet office and collaboration with Sodexo Management;
  • Meet DOH/state/federal and company standards in the department;
  • Provide staff education to ensure the safe management and care of clients and families;
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during team conferences to recommend, implement, and monitor nutrition interventions; and participate in quality improvement projects and regulatory compliance activities.

What You Bring

  • A Registered Dietitian credential with a Nevada licensure (or eligible to apply);
  • Proven management experience preferably in acute care, with clinical experience in pediatric and NICU(preferred);
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Creatively problem solving, the ability to work well with minimal supervision, to make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment;
  • Have excellent people skills and a passion for driving and improving the patient experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Minimum Management Experience: 6 years experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timeframes within the overall policy framework
Minimum Functional Experience: 5 years as experienced specialized practitioner able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to specialists.
