Sodexo Seniors has a current Chef Manager opportunity at our Showcase Account, Woodland Pond in New Paltz, NY. This upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) embodies the true spirit of community where Residents enjoy the security of a worry-free lifestyle. Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley region, this campus provides active Seniors a variety of programs and amenities, as well as a full continuum of on-site healthcare services.

The Chef Manager will oversee the daily kitchen operations, food production, and will cook as needed. Ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer satisfaction. Will report to the General Manager and manage a kitchen staff of approximately 25-30 hourly employees. Candidate needs to be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include a weekend rotation.
The successful candidate will:
- train and develop the kitchen staff;
- ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented and be part of implementing new innovative dining service options;
- have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
- up to 2 years food service management experience; senior living experience an added plus;
- the ability to successfully lead, develop and train a team;
- basic culinary knowledge;
- passion for our residents and customers to ensure our Sodexo CARES (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors are followed daily;
- excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
