Sodexo is seeking a hands on Catering Operations Manager for University at Albany, in Albany, NY. Our successful candidate will manage have previous Catering/Banquet management experience and will manage the day to day catering on campus, campus and conferences in the summer. This department serves High end plated service to high volume buffets. Reporting to the Catering Director, this leader will mentor, train and develop the service staff. Experience with mentoring and building cohesive teams is required.

The Catering Operations Manager will oversee all main campus catering operations. Success in this role requires strong executive client relations, experience with campus alumni events, and expertise in setting up both buffet-style and high-end service.
This position demands a flexible schedule, including nights, early mornings, and weekends, based on business needs.
What You'll Do
- Manage all day-to-day catering operations on campus
- Lead and train a cohesive, high-performing service team
- Maintain strong client relationships, including executive leadership and alumni groups
- Coordinate logistics for a range of events, from intimate dinners to high-volume receptions
- Uphold high standards for food safety and sanitation (HAACP compliance)
- Develop and implement initiatives to drive catering sales and customer satisfaction
- Ensure timely, efficient service delivery with attention to detail and event precision
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as business demands

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
