Snowflake is seeking an experienced Vice President of Global Platform Sales to lead our Platform Sales specialist team. This leadership role is critical in incubating and scaling the go-to-market strategies for our priority workloads. As the Vice President, you will guide a team of workload-aligned sales specialists who possess deep product expertise and strong commercial acumen. In this role, you will work closely with our product, engineering, and field teams, as well as our customers, to drive successful sales strategies across the Snowflake platform. This highly visible role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge and business leadership, essential for advancing our product objectives through a deeply integrated GTM execution approach.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL GET TO:
  • Lead and mentor a team of workload-aligned sales specialists to drive Snowflake's platform sales initiatives.
  • Drive the overall business and GTM strategy for workloads, ensuring alignment with Snowflake's broader goals.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with our priority workloads and product objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure that sales strategies are informed by deep product knowledge.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to communicate product requirements and align the product roadmap with customer needs.
  • Provide expertise and drive executive-level alignment through strategic discussions and workload positioning, supporting key workload-specific pursuits.
  • Design and execute innovative sales plays that effectively address market opportunities and customer challenges.
  • Partner with the field organization to integrate sales efforts with broader Snowflake GTM strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers to understand their needs and drive platform adoption.
  • Analyze and report on sales performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize strategies and achieve revenue targets.
ON DAY ONE, WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
  • Educational Background: A strong educational background with a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics); an MBA is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of significant experience in the data and analytics industry, with at least 10 years in sales leadership roles within a technology or SaaS company focused on infrastructure software and technical sales.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical acumen, with depth in at least one relevant data and analytics segment, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Applications, or Data Collaboration.
  • Sales Acumen: Deep understanding of go-to-market strategies, sales methodologies, and workload positioning with a strong track record of developing and executing sales plays that align with customer needs and market opportunities, driving successful sales initiatives, and achieving revenue targets in a highly competitive market.
  • People Management: Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on customer feedback and market demand.
  • Communication Skills: Strong business acumen and the ability to engage in high-level strategic discussions with executives, customers, and partners, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
