We're looking for an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to manage and grow the Snowflake Cloud Engineering team. The team is responsible for maintaining a deep technical relationship with teams across Snowflake and your team to build reliable scalable infrastructure critical to the scaling of traffic and new initiatives. You will be leading a team of talented software engineers to continue to optimize and scale Snowflake's infrastructure for existing and future applications.

AS AN ENGINEERING MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
  • Set the strategic vision for your team and be accountable for team plans and deliverables
  • Drive team projects from idea formulation, through design and implementation collaborating with partner teams
  • Be able to shift resources across areas and projects to achieve execution goals and to respond to lessons from customer and production issues
  • Provide strong technical leadership to the team with a focus on quality, performance, and security
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation while also promoting practical decision-making
  • Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team by participating in all steps of the recruiting process from sourcing to closing
  • Be responsible for the career development of your reports, providing continuous mentorship and coaching
  • Collaborate with other engineering and cross functional teams world-wide
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience
  • 5+ years of experience with building scalable infrastructure, networking and cloud technologies
  • Proven track record of recruiting, hiring, leading and growing technical teams
  • Rock solid engineering fundamentals with distributed systems experience
  • Extensive and strong understanding and experience in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience in a SaaS environment
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
