Snowflake is seeking an accomplished Principal Data Engineering Platform Sales to drive sales execution for our Data Engineering workload for the Americas markets. This is a strategic role that works closely with the broader field organization to ensure the successful customer adoption of Snowflake's Data Engineering and Data Lake capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Become an expert in Snowflake's Data Engineering and Data Lake capabilities and work with our field sales organization to drive customer engagements from discovery and qualification through solution implementation and deployment
  • Work directly with customers to understand their Data Engineering needs, communicating insights to inform Snowflake's product roadmap and ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Achieve revenue targets for allocated accounts and/or territory on a quarterly and annual basis by developing a sales strategy in the allocated territory with a target account list
  • Partner with the broader cross-functional organization to integrate Data Engineering sales efforts with Snowflake's overall go-to-market plans.
  • Execute tailored sales plays to capture market opportunities in Data Engineering, helping customers optimize their use of Snowflake's platform.
  • Provide executive-level insights to customers and partners, guiding strategic discussions that emphasize the value of Snowflake's Data Engineering capabilities.
  • Track, analyze, and report on Data Engineering sales performance metrics, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and drive continuous improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the data and analytics industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a sales role focusing on Data Engineering or related fields.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Lake, and other relevant segments in the data and analytics ecosystem, with proven expertise in driving successful sales initiatives within this domain.
  • Sales Acumen: A strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in highly competitive markets.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work across cross-functional teams including sales engineering, professional services, and marketing.
  • Communication Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging with senior executives and key decision-makers at both technical and business levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience operating in overlay sales role and/or driving product consumption through workloads and use cases
  • Prior career experience in Product or Engineering before moving into Sales or aptitude to build strong relationships with Product and Engineering partners within Snowflake

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $191,000 - $273,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.


The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
