As the Manager of the Continuous Integration Insights team, you will lead a talented group of engineers working to improve the accuracy and ergonomics of the Continuous Integration tools used by thousands of Snowflake engineers. The team, working from our office in Warsaw, is part of our distributed Engineering Systems organization who bring world-class tools and processes to enable Snowflake engineers to build world class AI Data Cloud at enterprise scale. Our mission is to make engineering excellence easy and to support bold advancements in the product via trustworthy infrastructure that accelerates development.

Strong technical and leadership skills, clear communications and collaborative decision making skills are critical for Engineering Managers at Snowflake. You will work in a fast-paced environment with world-class engineers who drive for results. Experience in CI or developer productivity is a plus.

As an Engineering Manager at Snowflake, you will be expected to
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Continuous Integration Insights team, focusing on the accuracy and ease-of-use of our validation pipeline.
  • Oversee projects from ideation to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering teams and cross-functional units to improve the platform and offer feedback.
  • Be a mentor and coach, focused on advancing your team's skills and career development.
  • Prioritize and allocate resources wisely, navigating through both planned projects and unplanned issues.
  • Lead initiatives to share knowledge across teams through demos, meetups, and working groups.
  • Partner with other leaders in the Engineering and Product organizations on quarterly planning, staffing, and project schedules.
  • Use your strong foundation as a technical leader to reliably deliver on complex projects while keeping the quality bar high
  • Grow the team by recruiting and hiring new team members and growing existing ones
Our ideal manager will have:
  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably in distributed systems
  • 2+ years of proven engineering management experience.
  • A strong passion for making developers highly productive.
  • A proven track record of growing teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Experience working on enterprise-grade Continuous Integration for Cloud-based distributed systems.
  • An eye for beautiful and ergonomic user interfaces and experience working in the UX space
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  • Fluency in Java, C++, Python or Go.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate well, and mentor junior engineers.
  • A strategic mindset and a strong sense of what to prioritize for maximum impact.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Additional experience that will make candidates stand out:
  • Developing data or distributed systems internals.
  • Multi-tenant systems, with a focus on reliability, performance, isolation and security.
  • Proven experience with authoring roadmap documents, project plans and RCAs.
