We’re looking for a Manager to join the Communications team!
What you'll do:
Design and deliver a proactive external communications strategy that drives awareness for our product innovation and advertising platform, particularly among businesses seeking to reach an audience outside of the country
Establish and maintain a long-term relationship with key media and journalists in APAC and consistently pitch and share the lastest news and product releases from Snap
Work closely with the cross functional teams across the globe to develop and execute local communications initiatives and campaigns, as well as localize and roll out global business and product news and campaigns
Help to build local thought leadership with local reporters and advertisers, and bring Snap’s narrative to life locally through compelling storytelling
Find ways to build the impression of Snap as a company and highlight Snap’s product innovation and engineering culture, as well our support for local businesses and marketers
Be a trusted contact for media in the country who rely on you for timely and accurate information and manage public interview, press conference and any urgent PR issues
Collaborate closely with the close-knit global Communications team to share local knowledge, coordinate campaigns, and develop ideas
Pitch news stories, create press materials, and prepare spokespeople for local media interviews and speaking engagements as needed
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent understanding of the media, policy and cultural landscape in the region, with a strong network of contacts across business, consumer, technology and trade media
Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to experiment in order to learn and identify creative solutions to problems
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and across different time zones
Ability to balance critical thinking with tactical execution and attention to detail despite frequent inbound enquiries and requests
Excellent news judgement as well as very strong writing and communications skills
Able to work with XFN teams across the globe
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience working in a communications role or related field
8-10+ years of relevant experience
