We’re looking for a Leave Specialist to join the People Team! 

  • What you’ll do:

    • Serves as main point of contact for relationships as it relates to leave of absences 

    • Distribute all documentation pertaining to leave of absence

    • Review and resolve escalated personal and FMLA leave of absence issues

    • Maintain strong relationships with absence management and disability program partner

    • Ensures compliance with Federal and State guidelines by staying abreast of current requirements and trends and communicating and implementing changes necessary to remain compliant.

    • Responsible for communicating approvals, denials, return to work and other important information to team members, managers and Human Resources Business Partners.

    • Create and distribute end-user reports as needed, with various frequency & formats and assist internal and external customers in understanding the data.

    • Track and report vendor benefit program and claim data, utilizing proprietary vendor reports and website data.

    • Provide guidance to team members, as it relates to the leave of absence policy

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Effective in a variety of communication settings, adjusts to fit the audience and the message, and provides timely and helpful information to others across the organization.

    • An innovative problem solver who loves to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement

    • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously

    • Extreme attention to detail

    • Ability to handle confidential documents and sensitive information 

  • Minimum Qualifications: 

    • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

    • 2+ years experience in leave of absence administration or related field

    • Knowledge of healthcare laws applicable to the position (e.g., HIPAA).

    • Knowledge of U.S. government regulations (i.e. ADA, FMLA, CA VDI, etc.)


 

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Expertise in managing Workday Benefits system

    • Strong expertise in quantitative analysis in Excel/Google Sheets

    • Proficient in Mac and Google applications (Drive, Sheets, Slides, and Docs)
