We’re looking for a Head of Platform Developer Relations to join Snap Inc!  Our Platform Developer Relations team builds trust and maintains relationships with the community of developers building with Snap’s Platform Products. As the leader of the Platform Developer Relations team, you will design programs and strategies to scalably drive growth of Snap’s developer ecosystem and improve the developer experience. You will inspire developers around the unique capabilities of Camera Kit, Minis and Snap Kit by producing compelling educational content, leading captivating workshops and presentations and engaging with developers both virtually and in-person. You will have your ear to the ground to build and maintain a deep understanding of the developer ecosystem and communicate pain-points, challenges, and goals to Snap’s Product and Engineering teams. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with Partnerships, Product, Marketing and Engineering and be responsible for ensuring our platforms are growing and evolving to drive increasing value for our partners and the Snapchat Community.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow, support and retain developers on Snap’s platforms. 

  • Evangelize Snap’s Platform products and inspire developer innovation utilizing Camera Kit, Minis and Snap Kit. 

  • Represent Snap within the developer community and serve as their advocate with internal Snap teams. 

  • Improve the overall developer experience and quality of tools by collaborating directly with the developer community, running software beta programs, sharing feedback with Snap Product and Engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with Partner Engineering to improve developer tooling and technical documentation.  

  • Develop educational and inspirational content (tutorials, social media content, how to videos, email campaigns, partner case studies, blog and forum posts, etc.) to activate the developer community. 

  • Develop relationships with technical/creative leaders and influencers within the developer ecosystem.

  • Represent Snap at third party conferences and events and oversee Snap’s developer event strategies including hackathons, Developer Summits, workshops and meetups.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong partner empathy and passion for building world class developer platforms, APIs and SDKs 

  • Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders verbally and through written documentation 

  • Strong analytical skills and proven creative ability to solve problems cross functionally 

  • Agile mindset with proven people and resource management skills

  • A technology enthusiast who has a strong passion for the future of mobile software development and AR. 

  • Self starter, ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a fast-moving environment

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Passionate about Snapchat and Snap’s unique approach developer toolkits 

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent work experience 

  • 10+ years of experience growing technical communities, partnerships, business development and/or account management

  • Proven people and resource management skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Passion for the Snapchat and the latest developer technologies

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

  • Technical background in software development, experience writing/debugging code and testing and shipping consumer software products.
