We’re looking for a Finite Element Analysis Engineer to join Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:
Perform static and dynamic structural simulations using Ansys or Abaqus on consumer grade hardware
Lead and coordinate with partner teams (Product Design, Reliability, Quality, etc.) to validate the predictions of the simulated results.
Work with product design engineers on evaluation, verification/validation and design optimization
Recommend design changes/directions to meet product performance requirements
Participate in team brainstorming and new technology development
Develop new simulation tools and capabilities as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Solid modeling practices including static and dynamic structural simulations, fatigue analysis, model validation techniques, and reliability
Familiar with CAD software (NX, ProE, Solidworks)
Familiarity with Abaqus user subroutine development
Expert level understanding of static and dynamic structural simulations using Ansys or Abaqus on consumer grade hardware in handheld/portable/wearable consumer electronics products
Thorough knowledge of Solid Mechanics and Strength of Materials
Failure modeling of different classes of materials
Testing familiarity using Digital Image Correlation, Universal Testing Machines, and Dynamic Mechanical Analysis
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Great interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups
Excellent process development and documentation skills
Self motivated to identify and close issues
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in a related field such as mechanical engineering and applied mechanics or equivalent years of experience
7+ years experience as an analyst performing mechanical and structural simulations
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s/PhD degree in relevant field
Experience in building and calibrating non-linear material models
Passion for creating innovative, high quality products
A passion for Snapchat and creativity!
