We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Core Growth engineering organization and drive the growth of Snapchat’s global community. You will manage talented engineers who own mission critical backend services and core flows in our mobile app. Core Growth is a dynamic, creative, highly collaborative organization where engineers contribute not only to technical design, coding and operational excellence, but also to product ideation, defining success metrics, and owning launches as a series of experiments. We build and operate key products for user acquisition, activation and retention such as registration and onboarding, phone verification, friend recommendations, search, sharing, multi-channel notifications, among others.

We are a distributed team and the location is flexible between LA, SF, MTV, Seattle. You’ll manage engineers across different locations, and collaborate with leaders and executives across Snap to deliver the highest quality for our product.
As an experienced engineering leader, you have consistently delivered strong business results and led mission-critical projects to completion. You build successful engineering teams with vision, mission, and sustainable engineering processes with a strong commitment to operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
Create and manage cross-platform (iOS, Android, Backend) product and engineering roadmaps that will enable the foundations of our responsible growth product strategy
Partner cross-functionally with stakeholder teams at Snap in order to align and deliver such product milestones
Closely collaborate with PMs in order to translate product requirements into technical designs, which are then turned into engineering roadmaps.
Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience working in software engineering
2+ years managing one or more teams of software engineers
Experience with large-scale microservices and distributed systems and/or cloud computing and storage systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with product development in the growth space
Experience with building mobile apps supported by distributed backend systems
