Meet the Team
The IoT Wireless MCU products produced by Silicon Laboratories combine an energy-friendly MCU with a highly integrated radio transceiver. These devices are well suited for a variety of wireless applications across a wide range of frequencies, digital protocols, and power levels. The IoT RF Validation team has a vital role in ensuring product performance, scalability, with an eye on time to market. Towards this end, the team develops hardware, software, test plans and systems to validate our integrated circuits while working with several functional teams (Design, Systems, Production Test, and Applications) to define and validate our RF products.

Responsibilities
We are looking for experienced individuals focusing on RF design validation of key radio IPs for low-power System-on-Chip IoT products.
- You will be a technical leader leading and owning key validation initiatives for the team.
- You will conduct bring-up and validate new Silicon Labs IP on silicon.
- In the process, you will employ your understanding of Radio Transceiver architecture, RF Testing, PCB development, RF matching skills, software development and data analysis to define tests, measure RF performance specifications, generate datasheets for our products while providing support and feedback to cross-functional teams
- Drive to root-cause investigations in a timely manner.
- You will be part of a specialized, highly skilled team and work on multiple wireless communications technologies such as Bluetooth Low-Energy, 802.15.4 Zigbee-Thread, 802.11 Wi-Fi, Wi-SUN, and proprietary short-range wireless.
- Testing of automated test infrastructure components in the unified, standardized testing framework
- Perform lab measurements including sensitivity, frequency/baudrate/deviation tolerance, blocking, PA output power, PA modulation characteristics, EVM and more
Skills You Will Need
- BSEE + 12 years of professional experience or MSEE + 8 years of professional experience
- Experience as a member of a validation team will be considered a plus
- Board or system level engineering knowledge with a solid understanding of RF concepts
- Ability to understand both RF system level performance issues as well as IC circuits
- Familiarity with integrated transmitters and receivers, impedance matching, PCB layout, and Python scripting
- Understanding of Radio Transceiver architecture with knowledge of how to test and verify RF System performance
- Ability to perform PCB development and optimize RF matching networks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and comfort in explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders
- Proficiency taking measurements with standard RF lab instruments (signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, scope, DMM, supply)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to generate high output in a self-driven manner
- Knowledge of common wireless communications standards and protocols such as Bluetooth low-energy, 802.15.4 or 802.11 WiFi, proprietary sub-GHz
- Experience in revision control and configuration management systems

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $114,428 - $212,510 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
