We provide top-notch engineering support, develop code examples, and create technical collateral, including comprehensive documentation for our IoT products. Our portfolio features multi-protocol wireless SoCs and 32-bit ARM Cortex-based MCUs, designed to simplify design efforts, reduce BOM costs, and accelerate time to market for a wide range of industrial and communications applications.

The Mass Market Applications Engineering team is the critical link between our innovative products and our customers' success. Our primary function is to support rapid prototyping and development, enabling customers to bring their systems to life using our cutting-edge products. We are product experts, dedicated to providing exceptional technical support and contributing to a rich knowledge base and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will leverage your RF hardware and embedded programming skills while working with our cutting-edge wireless and MCU products. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our products by supporting customers as they design and build connected systems. Here is what your daily role will look like:
  • Customer Support: Actively engage with customers to answer technical questions related to their design activities, primarily through Silicon Labs' public and private support systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team and field application engineers to address customers' technical inquiries and assist with debugging issues.
  • Training Delivery: Occasionally deliver training materials for Silicon Labs' global sales and field engineers to enhance their technical knowledge.
  • Technical Writing: Create and maintain technical collateral, including knowledge base articles, quick start guides, and code examples.
  • Content Improvement: Continuously improve the utility and ease of use of the technical collateral available on our public website.


Skills You Need
  • Educational Background: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, or Computer Sciene
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical or computer engineering fundamentals and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • RF Hardware Experience: Hands-on experience with RF hardware and advanced wireless concepts. Bonus experience includes wireless networking.
  • RF Technology Understanding: In-depth understanding of RF technology concepts such as antennas, beamformers, filters, matching networks, antenna radiation patterns, sensitivity, diversity, power loss, and gain.
  • Antenna Knowledge: Familiarity with various types of antennas and their applications. Experience in the design, simulation, and testing of matching networks for antennas designed for ISM bands (Sub-GHz and 2.4GHz). Experience in designing PCB trace antennas is a plus.
  • Circuit Knowledge: Technical knowledge of analog and digital circuits, including MCU core and peripherals.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C++
  • Desired Experience: 1 to 3 years

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $76,992 - $142,985 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
