Key Responsibilities:
The technical product manager is responsible for gathering requirements from customers, prioritizing release content, developing business use cases, coordinating with product development and product validation, and taking released product to market. Taking the product to market includes direct interaction with sales, services, customers, analysts, advisory boards and user groups. All of these efforts must be aligned with overall Siemens PLM strategy and internal product development processes. The technical product manager must possess both technical skills and business acumen. The technical product manager must be able to understand customer and market needs and translate them into revenue-generating application solutions in a very large and complex PLM platform framework.

  • Act as Product Owner of the assigned Industry solutions
  • Responsible for building Solution definition and prepare the backlog for development teams
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand market requirements and align on product and solution definition
  • Develop solution roadmap - MVP, Phasing plan, manage dependencies with product Releases, etc.
  • Prioritize the sequence of deliverables based on business objectives
  • Work the product development and partners to build software based on the requirements
  • Work with the delivery teams proactively to identify and mitigate risks
  • Partner with Solution directors to enable cross-industry applicability of the capabilities
  • Enable flow of innovation ideas from Industry experts to delivery teams
  • Lead/support the alignment efforts with Product Managers both within the product segment and across the segments
  • Support product marketing, sales, and industry verticals on the product validation and go-to-market strategy
  • Support Sales and account orchestrators to meet established goals for revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Perform hands-on demonstrations of the solutions for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Help determine pricing and packaging of individual products and solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 8+ years of experience working with enterprise and SMB customers across key industries including aerospace & defense, automotive and transportation, industrial machinery, medical devices, and others in various capacities such as product development, pre-sales, or services
  • 10+ years of experience software product development or implementation
  • 2+ years in application software product management
    - Developing strategic visions for products and solutions
    - Authoring product specs (business use cases/requirements, process flows, functional use cases, etc)
    - Authoring white papers, positioning documents, marketing content/deliverables
Required knowledge, skills, or expertise:

  • Functional domain knowledge/expertise: PLM essentials such as CAD integrations, bill of material management, requirements management, document management, etc
  • Practical knowledge/general experience: Engineering/product development in context of product lifecycle management, business process engineering
  • Agile software development
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Preparing and delivering internal and customer facing presentations
  • Preparing, presenting and justifying financial investments through a business plan
  • Developing content for solution enablement
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) experience is a plus

The salary range for this position is $101,200 to $182,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
