Software Engineer - Advanced

Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and ontime delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas. Technical lead of one or more projects within one area of a product. Provides input to the technical direction for one area of a product. Occasional consults with customers in regard to future upgrades and products. Able to solve complex technical problems. Provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Works with minimal supervision on complex projects with wide latitude for independent judgment. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency and technical expertise.

Responsible for development of technical solutions that spans SPLM product segments. Focus on Teamcenter implementation skills - server and client configurations and extensions. Works under the guidance of engineering manager to develop solutions. Collaborate with Scrum team and Teamcenter Product owners to understand technical requirements and develop solutions that meet quality KPIs. Participate in entire lifecycle of project including hands on configurations and customization of various products. Must be eager and able to learn new technologies from wide S-PL portfolio rapidly. Collaborate with globally distributed teams for delivery of solution per project needs. The job may require occasional travel including international travel.

Essential Functions:

Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products.

Provide innovative solutions to problems in the area of acknowledged expertise.

Use specialized knowledge to provide technical solutions.

Lead role in tool and environment projects.

Implement code and do code reviews and software integration.

Maintain and support current software tools.

Gather additional requirements from users and incorporate in tools when practical.

Implement new functionality.

Ensure that resultant deliverable is consistent with design.

Ensure that appropriate reviews and unit tests are performed.

Proactively communicate and consult with other developers and customers.

Review designs and/or implementations of other projects as required.

Manages assigned projects including defining scope, plans, schedules, and deliverables.

Research - Maintain technical expertise in area of specialty by following technical advances in industry and academia.

Perform research to determine possible technical solutions to long-term technical issues.

Communicates status of all projects, tools, and environments.

Develop new ideas

Documents all processes and procedures.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High knowledge of SAFe Agile, SLC or other life cycle methodology
  • High knowledge of construction and testing skills
  • High knowledge of application integration skills
  • High Knowledge of hardware and operating environment
  • High knowledge of program and system development skills
  • High knowledge of production support skills
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.

Education and Experience Requirement:

• Must have 6+ years of experience with Teamcenter. Experience with a large implementation at Automotive or A&D OEM Tier account is preferred.

• Previous development experience must demonstrate solid programming skills in C/C++, ITK and Active Workspace and demonstrate systems thinking in design of data model.

• Must have technical propensity to understand architecture for SPLM portfolio.

• Good communication with emphasis on technical writing. Ability to manage expectations in highly matrixed organization. Must be excellent team player.

• Must have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field. Master's degree highly preferred.
