We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our DVT team in Cairo, Egypt.
You will work on cutting-edge DVT Technologies, including QuestaSim core simulation, Visualizer Debug, and Questa Portable Stimulus. You will engage with a large, complex codebase, diving deep into the fundamentals of HDL simulation and contributing to the development of cutting-edge optimization techniques.
You'll address the challenges of modern verification engineers, driven by increasingly complex chip designs, and focus on creating scalable and innovative software solutions. Your work will shape the future of digital verification and leave a meaningful impact on the industry.

Responsibilities:
- Working on complex software applications, understanding, and developing features, and resolving bugs without disrupting existing functionality.
- Following software processes during the development cycle and delivering code with high quality.
- Adding basic coverage for implemented features, running software test suites, and investigating failures.
- Collaborating with internal and overseas developers, product owners and product engineers to understand and manage interdependencies of project tasks and discuss implementation details.
- Participating in project planning and tracking, conducting task investigations, work breakdown, and schedule estimation, while keeping the project lead informed of project status and risks.
- Ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms.
- Creating, documenting, and executing software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in software development.
- Proven track record of working on complex projects with significant contributions to software architecture, design, and delivery.
- Knowledge of software refactoring techniques, and software architecture.
- Advanced knowledge of design patterns, scalable architectures, and system optimization.
- Hands-on experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
- Extensive knowledge of C/C++, and object-oriented programming, with experience in development on UNIX/Linux platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid skills in algorithms and data structures.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control systems, testing methodologies, code reviews, and design documentation.
- High aptitude for learning and adapting to complex technologies.
- Proficiency in code optimization to achieve better performance and memory usage.
- Experience in HDL languages like VHDL and Verilog is a plus.
- Experience with DevOps practices is a plus
- Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share knowledge with others.
