Senior Principal Product Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction and Process Development: Interface with high-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes tailored to customer needs. Utilize complex design and tooling tasks that involve multiple design environments to improve customer processes.
  • Communication and Problem Solving: Communicate software issues effectively to product development teams to facilitate timely resolution. Communicate with customers and account team members to effectively extract the root causes of issues across the customer base. Clearly articulate how our solutions address the most challenging issues faced by customers, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and technical standards.
  • Design and Implementation Support: Assist other engineers in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale, complex graphical application programs across multiple software products and hardware platforms. Use advanced data exchange methodologies to enable efficient data sharing between different systems or applications spanning various engineering disciplines.
  • Documentation and Presentation: Prepare in-depth technical papers and deliver presentations to customer management, showcasing solutions and technical advancements. Act as a technical lead, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
  • Project Management and Independent Work: Manage and execute the most complex projects independently, demonstrating advanced knowledge and exercising latitude for independent judgment. Ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and align with customer expectations and company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Required Education and Focus: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred: Master's Degree or higher in a related technical discipline.
  • Required Technical/Industry Experience: Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in Digital Design and Verification flows and methodologies related to ASIC designs and processes. Extensive experience with complex design and tooling tasks across multiple design environments. Demonstrated expertise in working with cross-functional engineering teams and managing high-level customer interactions.
  • Required Work Experience: Proven track record of interfacing with senior-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance CAE design or manufacturing processes. Experience in guiding junior engineers and leading technical projects with minimal supervision. History of working independently on complex projects with significant latitude for judgment and decision-making.
  • Required Amount of Travel with the Position: Up to 25% travel may be required to meet with customers, attend industry conferences, and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, or Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of Digital Verification EDA Tools (i.e. Questa, Xcelium, VCS, Verdi, Visualizer, VIP, Questa Formal, Questa Lint, JasperGold, Spyglass)
    • Advanced knowledge of Digital methodologies involving UVM, IP-XACT, SystemVerilog, VHDL, SystemC, PSS, Low Power, X Management, Continuous Integration, coverage closure.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to cogently communicate software issues to product development and articulate solutions to customer challenges.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present in-depth technical papers and presentations to customer management.
    • Proficiency in using and troubleshooting multiple software products and hardware platforms.
    • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

The salaryrange for this position is $145,700 to $262,300 and this role is eligible toearn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
