We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Director reporting to the Vice President and General Manager to lead our software development team focused on Questa functional verification products. As the Senior Engineering Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of software engineering, from strategy and planning to execution and delivery. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, developing talent, building scalable and robust software solutions, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the EDA software engineering team, aligning with overall business goals and objectives. Develop and communicate a clear roadmap for the evolution of our software products and platforms.

• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineering leaders, architects, and technical leads, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to help team members grow and develop their skills.

• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.

• Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of software development technologies, methodologies, and best practices. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements and evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption.

• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our software products. Implement automated testing frameworks and other tools to streamline the testing and validation process.

• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines, budget, or quality. Implement strategies to minimize downtime and disruptions to our software systems.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging experimentation, learning, and innovation. Implement feedback loops and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• 20 years of experience in software development, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.

• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.

• Technical background in software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies for building digital functional verification products

• Familiarity with Verilog, VHDL, System-Verilog, compilers, elaborators, debug, database, simulation, static, formal products is a big plus

• Familiarity with AI and ML and its application to EDA would be a big plus

• Experience with agile development practices and project management tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams.

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make data-driven decisions.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in a technology-driven industry.

• Strong commitment to quality, excellence, and continuous improvement.

The salary range for this position is $197,700 to $355,900 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
